Common questions about kitchen tiling & splashbacks
Can you tile around sockets neatly?
Yes, and it is worth doing properly. The tile is cut to the box so the faceplate sits flat on the tile rather than covering an untidy edge.
Do I need to empty the kitchen?
Just the worktops and the area I'm working on. I'll work around you where I can and put dust sheets down.
Is herringbone more expensive?
It takes longer and uses more tile because of the cuts, so allow more than the usual 10% on top of the measured area.
