Common questions about floor tiling
Can you tile onto floorboards?
Not directly. Boards move, so they need overboarding or a decoupling layer first, otherwise the grout and eventually the tiles will crack.
Do large format tiles need a flatter floor?
Yes. The bigger the tile the less it forgives, so large format needs the floor levelling properly first or you get lipping between tiles.
Will it work with underfloor heating?
Yes, with the right adhesive and a decoupling mat where the build-up calls for it.
