Common questions about marble & natural stone
Is marble harder to tile than porcelain?
It is less forgiving. It marks, it chips, it varies between tiles and it stains if it is not sealed before grouting. It needs more time and it is worth it.
Does natural stone need sealing?
Most does, before fixing and again after grouting, and then re-sealing every so often depending on where it is.
Will the tiles all match?
No, and that is the point of stone. They get dry-laid and sorted first so the variation is spread across the room rather than pooling in one corner.
